The Goergen Institute for Data Science is proud to announce our Data Science Fall 2020 Speaker Series! Join us for a series of free, virtual research talks given by faculty and research leaders from across the country. All talks are on Fridays from 2-3 p.m.

UR-Cornell partnership seeks to bridge diverse approaches to data science
Vast datasets are now being generated from a variety of sensing systems i, including brain monitoring and imaging devices, global positioning systems (GPS), radio-frequency identification (RFID) sensors, medical devices, emergency systems, and energy systems—each providing rich information about unexplored aspects of the modern world.

Cetin: ‘We have a huge opportunity here’ in data science
Mujdat Cetin will become the next Robin and Tim Wentworth Director of the Goergen Institute for Data Science (GIDS) at the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ. The appointment is effective July 1, pending approval of the University Board of Trustees.

‘Real world’ data science projects benefit sponsors, students
Companies, academic researchers, and non-profit organizations can find solutions for their data problems by sponsoring student practicum projects through the Goergen Institute for Data Science (GIDS) at the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ.
